"Access Dance" was created by Karen Palmer BA (Hons) Dance Ed AISTD(CDE) RAD(RTS)(TDIP). Karen has danced since the age of 4 years old so has been involved in the dance industry most of her life. After training at Northern Ballet School achieving qualifications in both performance and teaching areas of dance, Karen went on to dance professionally in Italy and Germany where she gained invaluable performance experience. Since then she taught dance in both the public and private sector for a number of years adding to her qualifications along the way, working around starting a family.
Since the arrival of her son Karen has had a break from working, but during this time undertook a BA (hons) degree in Dance Education with the Royal Academy of Dance. This degree has led to the development of Access Dance, a Social Enterprise committed to helping young people to become involved in dance. Access Dance strives to provide young people with new performance experiences they might not otherwise have access to, and enables Karen to pass on her knowledge and experience to allow everyone the opportunity to access dance and hopefully understand the enjoyment that can be gained from dance.
